Getting Started
Upshot is an engineering impact intelligence platform. It connects to your dev tools, pulls in activity data, and uses AI to generate audience-tailored reports — so your whole company understands what engineering is building and why it matters.
Who is Upshot for?
- Engineering teams — automated standups, DORA metrics, and technical changelogs
- Engineering leaders — executive summaries with business impact and velocity trends
- Product & marketing — polished changelogs and editorial blog posts, auto-generated
- Customer success — customer-facing update emails without scary internal details

Generate a report
Pick an audience, a time range, and hit Generate. AI does the rest.
1. Create your account
Head to upshot.wellcode.ai and sign up with your work email or GitHub account. You'll be prompted to create an organization — this is the workspace where your team's data lives.
2. Connect your first integration
Navigate to Settings → Integrations and connect at least one source. We recommend starting with GitHub — it's the richest data source and takes 30 seconds via OAuth.
Upshot is entirely pull-based: we read from your tools' APIs on a schedule. No webhooks to configure, no firewall rules to update.
3. Generate your first report
Go to Reports → New Report, select an audience (try "Team" first), pick the last 7 days, and click Generate. Upshot will:
- Pull recent activity from your connected tools
- Interpret and cluster related work items
- Score items by impact and relevance
- Generate a polished, audience-appropriate report
Review the draft, make any edits, and publish — or schedule it to run automatically every week.
What's next?
